I'm a USA National Champion and 2x Elite Texas State Road Race Champion. For years I used a combination of coaches, spreadsheets, and eventually AI to build my training. It worked — I won back-to-back state championships with AI-generated plans as a core part of the process.
But the workflow had two problems. First, generic AI doesn't understand periodization. Ask ChatGPT for a 12-week criterium plan and you get something that sounds reasonable but ignores the fundamentals: progressive overload, recovery cadence, peaking protocol. I put in the work to fix that — grounding TrainingDojo's plan generator in how coaches actually build training blocks.
Second, even a great plan is useless if it takes an hour to enter into TrainingPeaks or rebuild for Zwift. Structured intervals require exact payloads no AI produces out of the box. I built the structuring engine to close that gap: describe a workout in plain language, get back a properly structured workout with IF, TSS, and intervals that can be pushed to TrainingPeaks or downloaded as a Zwift .zwo file.
Workout Vault extends that idea to the training you already did. If you coach yourself after years with a coach, or you have a deep TrainingPeaks or Intervals.icu history, it helps turn those past sessions into a reusable workout library for future blocks.
